Hiring for a variety of job and internship opportunities continues to readily increase on Handshake. In our August 2020 data, we saw top postings related to the industries of nonprofits, internet & software, and CPG – Consumer Packaged Goods, among others. Additionally, the top job functionalities for postings were Engineering – Web/Software, Finance, and Consulting.
The top employers who posted to NYU on Handshake in August included Procter & Gamble (P&G), IBM, and the Department of Energy – Office of Environmental Management, along with other organizations. Some of the additional top employers in August were also among the top for September, including BASIS Charter Schools, IBM, and Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education. Furthermore, in August, there were 2,200 full-time jobs, 1,206 internships, and 203 part-time jobs approved. Whereas, in September, there were 2,887 full-time jobs, 1,751, internships, and 196 part-time jobs approved, indicating a majority of increases for postings overall.

The roles that these employers posted ranged in functionality, including the likes of supply chain managers, sales account executives, WordPress developers, and strategy consultants. When compared with our previous reports, the employer with the top postings this past month increased their postings from 85 in August 2020 to 129 in September 2020. Furthermore, some employers who didn’t post in the previous month landed among the top employers with postings in September 2020, including Black & Veatch, National Grid, Arup, Coalition Technologies, and Verizon.
