The purpose of the 90-minute program is to create an environment where students, faculty and staff, and external partners can openly discuss the role and importance of social identities while providing an avenue for professional application in real time. The session is designed to give participants an opportunity to engage in internal reflection while engaging in external interaction on an individual and group level. The program has the following learning outcomes associated:
At the conclusion of the professional development session, participants will be able to:
• Articulate what social identities impact the career decision making processes on an individual level
• Practice communicating social identities, values and skills, and professional aspirations to a variety of individuals and organizations
• Synthesize what professional engagement means for a variety of social identities and career trajectories
